Episode 035: How to Create a Content Stockpile

School holidays are upon us and the silly season is fast approaching! Yup. Already!

You know what that means. That time of year when we don’t know which way is up, and on top of business and daily life, there’s parties, presents and tempers to handle before the after-Christmas lull.

As the hustle and bustle ramps up before holiday breaks or big events, let's make sure your marketing is one less hat you have to wear. This way, you can catch a breather and focus on the other million things on your plate without a hitch.

Today we’re talking about creating a content stockpile - for those days when you just can’t (or don’t want to) think of creating something to share but still want to show up.

This episode covers:

  • What is a content stockpile;

  • What to include in your content stockpile;

  • How to create your own content stockpile.

What should you include in a stockpile?

Here are just a few ideas to get you started:

  • Evergreen content that doesn't have a specific use by date

  • Content staples - core business content that you need to share on a regular basis e.g.: shipping info, FAQs, how to book or buy from you etc.

  • Teasers to your long form content - such as blogs, Vlogs, podcast episodes etc.

How to create your own content stockpile:

First and foremost, we don’t recommend you do this all at once because you’ll get overwhelmed and won’t do it! Instead collect content tidbits as you go about your daily marketing life:

  • Create multiple formats for the same idea - presenting it as a Reel, carousel, graphic, story etc.

  • Look at your insights data and find your best performing content and save to share another time - pro tip: save your Reels to your phone before posting so you can easily reshare

  • Create Canva templates for core business content that you can download and roll out on Stories when pressed for time.
